Tension is a feeling I can sense in my body, mind and soul. My body becomes tense out of fear and fright. I’m not used to it and it marks a moment when I leave my comfort zone.
The opposite of tension is relaxation, release or comfort – both are important for personal growth. Just like yin and yang, the key is balance!
My mind and soul are tense when I am uneasy, misunderstood or I find myself in a situation that is strange and completely new to what I know. But there is also positive tension coming from excitement. It surges before a challenging job or speech and incites creativity, focus and drive.
