The feeling of being true to oneself – inwards and outwards. Combined with acceptance and introspection, authenticity allows us to check the way we behave, the way we speak, the way we think, the way we present ourselves, the way we express ourselves and thoughts we indulge in. It allows us to be ourselves.
To feel authentic does not mean to preserve ourselves to the point of being blind to our flaws. It opens our eyes to find our true selves and allows us to openly celebrate, accept and improve our different parts.
Feeling authentic means taking responsibility for who we are in our complexity, being mindful and being able to make fair judgements.
